The Deskmaster station is a desk top device
that interfaces with a standard Weathermaster
Paging communications system allowing a user
to respond to incoming calls as well as issue outgoing
calls.
The Deskmaster can be programmed to
respond to either a 'timed' call tone issued from
the CALL button from a Weathermaster Paging Station,
(where the call tone has to be present for a time period
exceeding 4 seconds) or else it will broadcast any audio
communications present on the audio lines, over the
built-in speaker. With a timed call tone is used, the
Deskmaster produces an incoming call alarm tone
broadcast over the built-in speaker.
Once the
handset is lifted, a Press to Speak - Release to Listen
handset function is provided and the incoming audio is
disconnected from the built-in speaker. A pressel
switch located in the handset cradle allows the Control
Room Operator to toggle between talk and listen
A
twisted pair shielded Page cable connects the Deskmaster
to the Weathermaster field stations.
An outgoing
call is made by lifting the handset, pressing the handset
pressel button and broadcasting the page message. Each
field station connected on the Page line will amplify
and broadcast the received audio signal. The
desk top unit incorporates an internal speaker volume
control and Power on LED.
