The PSW amplifier unit is used in association with the TW15KS signaling system to broadcast PSW tones along the length of the conveyor
during periods of start-up.

Each PSW amplifier unit incorporates a high
output re-entrant horn giving an output in excess of 100dB from a fully charged battery during PSW initiation. The internal nicad battery, used to provide "local" power to the amplifier circuit
during PSW periods, uses a constant current trickle charge source and obtains its power from the interconnecting TW15KS pullcable.

When used with ATHOS portable handsets, the amplifier unit can be configured to respond to the ATHOS call tone and broadcast paging messages. At all other times except during PSW, the battery is automatically disconnected from the amplifier circuit. This eliminates the effect of any noise pickup and ensures full charging capacity to the battery.

Each PSW amplifier is usually located at strategic intervals of 600ft or less along the length of the
conveyor. At these locations, the amplifier can be combined with TW15KS "lockout" pullkeys.
